Around Me

Everyday Prague

Where to go for the ordinary things, how each kind of service works, and how Prague's districts are organised.

How this works in Prague

Most stations are self-service: fill up, remember the pump number and pay inside. Petrol is Natural 95 or 98, diesel is nafta. Motorway stations are open around the clock; smaller city ones are not. Fuel access matters in an emergency too — keep the tank above half if you may need to leave the city.

Finding places…

Petrol station locations come from the official Czech base map (ČÚZK/ZABAGED), not OpenStreetMap. Where the ministry's register confirms a station, its fuel types are shown; where it does not, the station is listed as located but unconfirmed.

Share your location to see the closest places first. Without it, places are listed alphabetically.

OpenStreetMap locations are community-maintained and are not a guarantee that a service is open, accepting new patients, or covered by insurance. Call ahead. Your location is used in the browser only to request nearby results and is not stored.

    Not covered here

These topics are covered properly by the official newcomer site run with Prague City Hall support, so we point you there rather than duplicating them.

    Crisis situations

For domestic violence, homelessness, debt or discrimination, Prague Compass is not the right tool. The official newcomer site lists organisations that can help directly.
