Grouped by life situation, following the official Czech public administration service catalogue, not by which office is responsible. Every procedure lists its steps, the documents to bring and the authority that decides.
Life situations
Each card gathers the procedures that usually belong together, in the order they normally need doing.
Moving to Czechia
Residence permission, reporting your arrival and the first registrations with deadlines attached.
Marrying or entering a partnership here as a foreign national: the registry office, the documents, and what it does not automatically change about your residence.
These topics are covered properly by the official newcomer site run with Prague City Hall support, so we point you there rather than duplicating them.
Family and children
Prague Compass covers birth registration, a child's residence and where family benefits are claimed. Family reunification casework, childcare places and day-to-day parenting support are outside our scope — the official newcomer site, supported by Prague City Hall, has a full section on them.
Prague Compass can explain a procedure, but it cannot sit with you at the counter. Metropole vsech, the city’s integration programme, publishes a list of intercultural workers who interpret and accompany you to offices free of charge — in Ukrainian, Russian, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Romani, English and other languages.
