What this actually is
Czech employment is contract-based and heavily formalised. Your employer registers you for health and social insurance and withholds income tax. You are responsible for having the right to work and for signing the taxpayer declaration if you want monthly tax relief applied.

Check your right to work
Confirm that your status permits this specific role and employer.

Sign the contract
It must be in writing and state the type of work, place of work and start date.

Give your insurance details
Provide your chosen health insurer and your birth number.

Sign the taxpayer declaration
Signing lets your employer apply monthly tax relief to your salary.

Attend the entry medical check if required
Many employers require one before you start.
