A practical first account before you can open a Czech one.

Why it is useful
Revolut can be opened with a foreign address and gives you a working card and a Czech-usable IBAN quickly, which covers rent and deposits in the first weeks. Contactless payment is accepted almost everywhere in Prague, including on most trams for validating card-based tickets.

Know before you rely on it
- Some Czech authorities and employers still prefer a domestic bank account, and a few landlords refuse non-Czech IBANs even though they are legally obliged to accept EU transfers.
- Cash deposits are awkward compared with a branch bank.
