IČO

An eight-digit identification number given to every business and self-employed person.
Where you meet it
It goes on every invoice you issue and is asked for whenever you sign a business contract.
The fuller explanation
IČO stands for identifikační číslo osoby. It is public — anyone can look up a business in the ARES register using it. Having an IČO does not by itself mean you are VAT-registered.
