Glossary
Czech POINT
Pronounced check point
In one line
A government network of contact points — mostly post offices — where you can obtain common official extracts and certified copies in one place.
Where you meet it
Instead of travelling to each authority, you can pick up a criminal register extract, land registry extract and similar documents at one counter.
The fuller explanation
Short for Český Podací Ověřovací Informační Národní Terminál. Locations include many Česká pošta branches, municipal offices and some notaries; the official czechpoint.cz site lists them. Bring a passport or ID card and expect a modest fee per document. Extracts issued there carry the same weight as ones from the responsible authority.
