Every rental should have one in writing, and offices ask to see it.
The fuller explanation
It names the flat, the rent, the payments for services, the deposit, the length of the tenancy and the notice periods. Residential leases must be in writing. The person signing on the landlord's side has to be the owner, or hold a written power of attorney from the owner.
