Your next employer, and the Labour Office if you register as a jobseeker, will ask for it.
The fuller explanation
Formally potvrzení o zaměstnání. It records how long you worked, the type of contract and any deductions being made from your pay. Your employer is obliged to issue it when the job ends; ask for it on your last day rather than chasing it later.
